About sixteen (16) undocumented suspects were nabbed at the Bagdacht and Slaaihoek near Waterval Boven, for illegal mining, on Thursday.
The suspects are between the ages of 19 and 46.
They were found in possession of pendukas and generators.
As a result, were arrested for Contraventions of the Immigration Act of South Africa, additional charges include the possession of gold-bearing material (GBM) and gold-bearing equipment (GBE).
The arrested suspects are expected to appear at Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court soon.
