Two suspects were nabbed with copper rods of an estimated value of R9 million, in Bedfordview, on the July 3rd, 2025.
The two also hijacked trucks and kidnapped drivers of AMPM SA, guised as metro police officers.
They were caught by real officers-Johannesburg Metro Police Officers (JMPD) in one of the two hijacked trucks.
JMPD said in a statement on Wednesday, “our TRU swiftly located both trucks on the N3 South in Bedfordview. The officers apprehended two suspects from one truck, despite one fleeing. Through rapid investigation and victim ID, both apprehended individuals were detained at Bedfordview SAPS, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property, truck hijacking, and kidnapping.”
