The Storm continues at level 4 in parts of KwaZulu Natal.
Motorists are urged to proceed cautiously on wet roads in Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands, where storms have interrupted supply to services.
uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) said, four pump stations were struck by lightning, including Mill Falls Pumpstation, Groenekloof Pumpstation and Mpolweni Pumpstation.
This has led to interrupted water supply to Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.
These pumpstations supply Howick, Howick West, Mpophomeni, Hilton, Vulindlela, Mshwathi, Montebello and Ozwatini.
The water utility said maintenance teams are working to restore electricity at various pumpstations.
Time of restoration is still unknown.
