K9 Search and Rescue NI, said it continues to closely monitor the situation, following an earthquake in Turkey, with a magnitude of 6.2.
The quake struck Istanbul on Wednesday, at around 12:49 PM.
Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), said although this is one of the strongest earthquakes to have struck Istanbul, reports indicate minimal damage.
Its epicentre was located near Silivri.
Several aftershocks of a magnitude of about 3.9 were felt at around 12.13pm, according to Turkey’s disaster and emergency management agency (AFAD).
Reports said the quake was also felt in several provinces and in the city of Izmir, south of Istanbul.
