About seven people were arrested for illegal mining in Kimberley, on Wednesday.
The suspects are between the ages of 29 and 73.
They were found at a mining site in Kimberley, by a policing multi task team.
Upon probing, it became clear they did not have valid permits to operate and were not granted permission by the owner to conduct mining activities on the property.
The police said its teams continue their high-density disruptive actions under Operation Vala Umgodi.
The suspects are expected in court on charges of illegal mining, trespassing, and contravention of the Immigration Act.
