There are now 6, 600 cases of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda.

There were 3200 deaths.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) confirmed an increase of 82 cases and 51 deaths after the 05th of September this year.

Most of these new cases were reported in Ituri (39), and North Kivu (39), and Haut Uele (4). 

The Bundibugyo virus continues and was classified as a regional risk and a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Affected areas are North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, Haut-Uele and Tshopo.
