A 90- year old man died in a fire that broke out at High Level Rd, Sea Point.
A firefighter was also injured, and taken to hospital.
Eyewitnesses said the fire began at around 3:30 pm.
Residents nearby had to be evacuted.
The fire was eventually contained on Friday evening.
