A fire has destroyed the Cucina Di Giovanni restaurant and the first wing of the accommodation facilities, in the Cape Winelands.
The Winelands Fire Protection Association (FPA) said a fire broke out at the Laborie Estate in Paarl after 12:00pm, on Saturday, 20 December 2025.
With the fire partly contained, the Manor House and the second accommodation wing, are out of danger.
Firefighters are battling flames, against strong winds.
Helicopters were deployed by the FPA to support ground crews with aerial water drops.
Firefighters are from the Stellenbosch Municipality, Cape Winelands District Municipality, FPA and DFW Fire & Rescue NPC.
The public is urged to keep the main road clear.
Another fire in Caledon, is burning too close to the Badskop reservoir.
A helicopter is currently conducting water dousing to protect the reservoir infrastructure and prevent the fire from spreading towards the Caledon Casino precinct.
