18 -year old Evan Gingo, was killed in a car accident which involved at least 25 cars, in Butler County on Friday.
Nine people were injured and hospitalised.
Officials said the road was shut in both directions for nearly 6 hours and police are investigating details of events which led to the accident.
Videos went viral showing icy road conditions and vehicles skidding out of control.
The accident happened on I-79 in the area of Zelienople and Evans City exits.
