Israel has called out South Africa, for hosting the “Hague Group” on Wednesday.

The group was formed on 31 January 2025, to protect and uphold the rulings of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Israel called South Africa “a close ally of the murderous regime in Tehran, which slaughtered thousands of its own citizens.”

The foreign ministry of Israel also wrote on its social networks “these two corrupt regimes, united by their hatred of Israel, recently held a joint naval exercise.

We can expect the outcome of the Hague meeting to be as successful as Iran’s navy, which is probably why Bolivia and Honduras had the sense to leave this forum.”

Tensions are on the up and up globally, with Iran claiming to be in ‘complete control’ of Strait of Hormuz, following pressure from China, to keep oil and gas flows.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, spoke ill of Spain and the United Kingdom (UK) on Wednesday, for refusing to allow the US on its base.

“We’re going to cut off all trade with Spain.”

Trump is equally unhappy that the UK allowed only two bases, for defensive action against Iran.

Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defence in the US, also had harsh words on Wednesday, “we didn’t start this war, but under President Trump, we will finish it…It took America the 47th president, a fighter who  always puts America first, to finally draw the line after 47 years of Iranian belligerence. He reminded the world, time and time again, being an American means something unbreakable. If you kill an American, I’d you threaten Americans anywhere on the planet, we will hunt you down, without apology and without hesitation, and we will kill you.”

The South African Embassy in Riyadh and in Jeddah said they are closing monitoring the situation but urged residents to limit non-essential movements and exercise caution at public spaces and avoid military or restricted zones.

The Dubai Airport announced limited resumption of operations on Monday, with a few flights from Dubai International to Al Maktoum, with travellers given strict instructions not to proceed, unless contacted by their airline.

A US based organisation said at least 1000 people have died, since the start of the Iran-US war.

Iran launched its 17th wave of missiles against central Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s Supreme Leader, made news this week, when he said ‘If Iran asks, we will provide it with missiles against Israel. One missile is enough to erase it.’
