About 15 soldiers were killed and another five injured, last Wednesday, during a terrorist attack, against a military post in Benin.
HE Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) has called for strengthened, collective mobilisation of West African countries.
He encouraged the establishment of a regional brigade of the African Standby Force, to combat terrorism.
Youssouf also reaffirmed the AU’s commitment to support West African countries in their efforts to prevent and combat terrorism and violent extremism.
