A huge fire at the Coveway Park, in the Hammarsdale industrial area, was contained.
The eThekwini Fire Services said a call notifying them of the fire, was received at around 10:26am on Sunday, 15 March.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a huge fire, that had flattened large sections of the plant.
In addition, it destroyed a hyster machine, a company truck and two vehicles housed on site.
It is suspected the fire started in the warehouse section, but as huge as it was, there were no casualties reported.
The Municipality’s has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The Hammersdale Cato Ridge Development Association, said “due to swift response, professional management and highly motivated firefighting teams, the blaze was contained. The potential for a larger fire was averted.”
