The South African Weather Service (SAWS) warned against severe thunderstorms (Orange Level 6) over the western parts of the Free State and North West, as well as the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape.
Similar but lesser conditions (at Level 4), are expected the central parts of North-West, central and eastern Free State, and central interior of the Northern Cape.
The weather service also warned against damaging wind and waves (at Level 1) between Richards Bay and Kosi Bay.
This comes days after heavy rains led to localised floods in Joe Morolong, part of the John Tailo District, in the Northern Cape, as well as Ngaka Modiri Molema district.
Affected areas are in the North West, last week, were at Mahikeng, Ramotshere Moiloa, Ditsobotla and Ratlou local municipalities.
