An earthquake measuring 3,1 was recorded at Glenharvie in Westonaria, on Tuesday.
The Council for Geoscience (CGS), said the event was confirmed by the South African National Seismograph Network (SANSN), at 20:32 in the evening, local time.
Westonaria, a mining town, West of Johannesburg, has had nine earthquakes this year alone.
Last year, the highest measured one was at 4,3 on the 10th of September 2025.
