Two suspects were arrested for impersonating the police in Tembisa, on Thursday.
The two are aged 28 and 37.
Police say they acted on information received regarding a group of suspects allegedly involved in kidnappings, house robberies, street robberies, and the impersonation of police officers within the Ivory Park, Tembisa and Kempton Park policing precincts.
They headed to Umthambeka Section, where they obtained consent to search the premises, members searched the suspects’ rooms and recovered various items, including an Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) reflector jackets, a Merafong City Traffic reflector jacket, hand-held radios, a baton, stamps, knives, a police holster, a laptop, a black plastic toy firearm, and 20 stripped cellular phones.
The two suspects were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen property and impersonating police officers.
