There are no reports of injuries or fatalities, after the Durban Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) terminal caught fire on Monday evening.
Bystanders heard an explosion which preceded a fire with sizeable plumes.
Authorities and emergency teams headed to the scene, to contain the fire.
The cause and extent of the damage is under investigation.
