Venezuela’s twin earthquakes on the 24th of June, claimed 2,954 lives and 16,592 were injured.

Some 6,462 people were rescued.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said seven states were affected, with the most damage at La Guaira.

Authorities said there were at least 942 aftershocks.

More than 16,000 people lost their homes and about 190 buildings collapsed.

The state of roads at about seven states is being assessed.

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) indicates damage to homes and infrastructure could easily amount to $37 billion.

UNDRR also estimates direct physical damage could be up to $6,7 billion.
