A man died in a fire at the Vusimuzi informal settlement, in Thembisa, on Sunday.
Five informal homes were obliterated by the fire.
Although still under investigation, sources suspect the fire was sparked by a gas cylinder.
The City of Ekurhuleni’s Emergency Services and back up teams from Olifantsfontein attended the fire, until it was brought under control.
