Wind turbine components will be transported from Coega Harbour through Makhanda along the N2 sections 12 and 13 routes, to a farm on the Bedford road along the R350.
In addition, the trucks will be escorted by private security vanguard cars.
There will be 3 trucks carrying blades with traffic police escorts, 3 trucks with heavy cargo with Private Escorts and 4 trucks with tower sections and two private escorts.
The trucks will run in convoys of approximately 45 minutes apart to keep traffic flowing safely and minimise delays on the National road.
As a result, the Department of Transport in the Eastern Cape, urged motorists to exercise patience and caution when approaching these vehicles, as well as maintain a safe following distance.
