About 25 people were killed as a result of floods in north and northeastern India.
Heavy rainfall hit Jammu, Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh until Tuesday.
Some areas in Northern Punjab, received exorbitant amounts of rainfall in just one day, such as Amritsar (185mm) and Thein Dam(Pathankot) -77.5mm.
India’s Meteorological Agency urged residents in affected regions, to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
The Agency warned against taking shelter under trees or weak structures during heavy downpours.
“Check road/traffic conditions,avoid unnecessary travels, and follow any other advisories issued by concerned agencies.”
This follows Orange warnings as strong winds and thunderstorms of between 40-60 kmph, hit several districts, including Uttar Pradesh,Telangana, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Manipur,Uttrakhand, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
