Four men between the ages of 25 and 38 were arrested in possession of copper cables in Odendaalsrus, on Monday.

Police said they received information about stolen Transnet copper cables in Wolmaransstad and were therefore, led to a scrap metal dealer in Kutlwanong. 

They found the cable, estimated at one hundred and fifty thousand rands (R150 000) and weighing 766 kilograms.

Police also said various organisations were part of the operation, including the Dimension Infrastructure Crimes Team, Odendaalsrus police, Wolmaransstad police and Transnet Senqobile Security.
