Limpopo province is moving to a cashless payment system on roads, as from the 1st August 2026.
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, reminded motorists of the migration.
Mashudu Mabata, Spokesperson of the department, said the migration from cash payments to a fully cashless system is across all service points, in the province.
“Members of the public paying for traffic fines, vehicle licence discs, driver’s licence applications and renewals, abnormal load permits, and all other services offered by the Department, will be required to use approved cashless payment methods. No cash payments will be accepted” said Mabata.
Payment options will now include Debit/Credit Cards, EFT/Instant Payments and Mobile Payments.
