uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) is among various water stakeholders attending the 2026 Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) Biennial Conference and Exhibition at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), until Friday.
The company said the theme “Rethinking Amanzi – securing our future” complements its latest move, to launch the Nhlengile Spring Water Package Plant in Babanango at the uMzinyathi District.
The 0.5 megalitre plant was launched on Nelson Mandela Day, by the Deputy President, Paul Mashatile.
The Plant was constructed by uMngeni-uThukela Water, to supply 2,000 people with water in the uMzinyathi and Zululand Districts.
Pemmy Majodina, Minister of Water and Sanitation, said the country still faces several challenges hampering supply.
She said the solution is to join forces “therefore, the theme of this conference, could not be more apt. We need to embrace new ideas…our envisaged water secure future demands new technologies and stronger governance and resilient infrastructure.”
