Lepelle Northern Water Board (LNW) has a new board of directors.
Pemmy Majodina, Minister of Water and Sanitation, called on the newly appointed Board, over the weekend, to build on the institution’s recent achievements and accelerate efforts to strengthen water security, infrastructure development and financial sustainability in Limpopo.
Majodina emphasised the strategic role played by LNW in supporting socio-economic development through the provision of bulk potable water to communities, municipalities, industries and businesses.
The entity generated revenue of more than R1.6 billion and recorded a surplus exceeding R400 million in the last financial year.
It also has assets valued at an estimated R6.3 billion and net assets of R5.4 billion.
It is owed an estimated R1.36 billion to R1.6 billion by regional water service authorities.
Majodina also praised the organisation for maintaining an unqualified audit opinion for four consecutive years and recording zero irregular expenditure as well as zero fruitless and wasteful expenditure.
She also thanked the former chairperson -Dr Nndweleni Mphephu, for steering the organisation through a period of significant turnaround.

Lufuno Tokyo Nevondwe, Prof. Tebogo Mashifana, Prof. Mabel Mphahlele-Makgwane and Ashley Latchu.
