Pule Shayi, resigned as Mayor of Mopani District on Wednesday, to be sworn in as a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, in Limpopo.
Shayi is part of the reconstitution of the Provincial Government, announced by Dr Phophi Ramathuba, Premier of Limpopo.
Ramathuba acknowledged that Limpopo faces significant structural challenges, including high levels of unemployment, persistent poverty and hurdles in accessing basic services.
New members of the Executive Council were sworn into office on Wednesday morning.
The Reconstituted Limpopo Executive Council is made up of Basikopo Makamu- MEC of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya- MEC of Education, Florence Radzilani- MEC of Social Development, Nakedi Kekana – MEC of Transport and Community Safety, Dr Tshitereke Matibe – MEC of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Kgabo Mahoai – MEC of Finance, Ernest Rachoene – MEC of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Constance Kupa-Mabuza- MEC of Sport, Arts and Culture, Pule Shayi – MEC of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs and Eddie Maila – MEC of Health.
