A power trip on the Orlando Feeder at the Fordsburg Substation, led to a widespread power outage since Monday.
City Power said its technical teams are attending to the outage, in Lenasia, Hursthill and Reuven Service Delivery Centres (SDCs).
Isaac Mangena, Spokesperson of City Power, said in a statement, “the incident began just after 18:14 when the Orlando 4 feeder tripped, resulting in a loss of power supply at the Orlando SWS.”
Affected areas are the Soweto Substation, and others in Eldorado Park, Industria, Nancefield, Nirvana and Eikenhof.
The outage also interrupted electricity supply to Rand Water’s pumping operations, which have not been operational since approximately 19:00.
