21 homes were gutted by a fire in Diepsloot Extension 1.
The Cedric Mphofela Foundation said the incident occurred on Tuesday night, after a paraffin lamp was left unattended.
The Foundation also said fortunately, although residents lost all their belongings in the fire, there are no casualties reported.
Gerald Ngobeni, the Councillor of the area, said about 21 families were affected and now need help.
