A fire broke out in the Bain’s Kloof area, on Monday.
The Cape Winelands Municipality (CWDM), together with the Winelands FPA, CapeNature and NCC, said despite very strong winds and a challenging terrain, teams are making good progress.
As a result, the right flank was pushed back up the mountain, away from the pine plantation, and is currently burning high up in the upper sections of the mountain.
The fire on the left flank was prevented from crossing the road.
Authorities hope predicted rains on Monday evening, will help firefighting efforts.
