Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) will be sworn in at a ceremony, on Monday, the 01st September 2025, in Abidjan.
Dr. Tah was elected on May 29, 2025, in Abidjan, by Bank Group Governors representing 81 member countries (54 African and 27 non-regional) with 76.18% of the votes.
He is expected to take the oath of office before the Bank’s Governors — Ministers of Finance and Central Bank Governors of member countries.
He succeeds the outgoing Akinwumi Adesina, who has been at the bank’s helm for about ten-years.
Heads of state, including the Presidents of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, and of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, representatives of international institutions, development partners, diplomats, as well as private sector and civil society actors, members of the Board of Directors, and staff of the African Development Bank Group are expected to attend.
