A team led by Leon Kluge, an internationally acclaimed South African landscape designer, and plantsman, clinched an award for the ‘Best exhibit in the Great Pavillion’ at the Chelsea Flower Show 2026.

The team also won a gold award earlier on Tuesday.

This is for their display depicting the diversity and resilience of bulbs, orchids and other wildflowers, after fires swept through fynbos landscapes.

Titled ‘Life after Fire’ the display is a celebration of the resilience of the plants of the Cape.

Kluge thanked sponsors for this year’s display – The Rupert Nature Foundation, Hazendal Wine Estate,  Grootbos and Southern Sun as well as Cape Flora SA.
