A water sector anti-corruption forum (WSACF) was launched on Thursday, 05 March 2026, to coordinate efforts to prevent, detect, investigate and respond to corruption in the water sector.
The forum is an initiative of the Department of Water Affairs and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
Outcomes of a recent risk assessment of corruption-prone sectors, led the SIU to form the structure.
Acting Head, Mr Leonard Lekgetho, said “the Forum will establish a coordinated, sector-specific, and sustainable anti-corruption framework, which represents a proactive effort to protect public resources and guarantee that all communities have access to clean, reliable water.”
He launched the Forum alongside Pammy Majodina, Minister of Water and Sanitation.
