Rand Water’s reservoirs are at a collective 47% full.
The Gauteng Provincial Department said while systems such as the Commando, Soweto, Midrand and the Deep South, remain under pressure, recovery is coming via a rebalancing of the network.
Elijah Mhlanga, Spokesperson of the Provincial Government, said the Gauteng Operations Centre, continues to “monitor reservoir levels daily, coordinate system balancing between bulk and local supply, accelerate leak detection and support technical interventions.”
But residents of Evaton, Palm Springs and parts of Sebokeng have interrupted supply, due to high demand, water leaks and power failures at pump stations.
Mhlanga also said tankers are deployed at peak times during the day to supply stranded areas, including parts of MidVaal.
