The City of Tshwane confirmed the number on Monday, after more than 100 informal homes were gutted to the ground by a fire.
Ruth Senoamadi of the local Community Policing Forum, in the area, said to Earthnews365 on Sunday, they were alerted to a fire in the early hours of Sunday morning, around 2:45am.
Ofentse Madzobatela, Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) for Human Settlements in Tshwane, has assured residents of the City’s assistance.
He said “a joint operation center comprising relevant departments was established and is operating from the Olievenhoutbos police station.”
