Residents took to social media to announce strong winds in the Free State on Sunday.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an alert, Yellow level 2, for disruptive snow, resulting in localised traffic disruptions and localised loss of livestock is expected in places along the Eastern Cape escarpment and KwaZulu-Natal high ground, on Monday.
SAWS also warned against damaging waves expected between Plettenberg Bay and Port Edward on Monday morning.
There is also an alert against extremely high fire danger conditions, expected in some areas of Limpopo.
