The construction of the new K60 Bridge, in Gauteng, is well underway.
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (GDRT), said it will take another three months to complete the project on the N1-20 Freeway.
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), said a 200 meters transition area will be provided to safely divert traffic from the normal lane configuration into the temporary traffic accommodation.
Moreover, a Buffer Zone of about 100 m, will be maintained between live traffic and the work area.
Transition Area 2 (200 m), will also be provided beyond the work zone to safely guide traffic back into the normal lane configuration.
Progress Hlahla, SANRAL’s Provincial Head for Gauteng, said “we advise road users to plan their trips accordingly during this temporary lane diversion, adhere to the traffic accommodation signage and the flag persons advanced warnings. It is not only for your own safety but, also that of the construction personnel on site.”
