Several areas have electricity supply interruptions in the Nelson Mandela Bay, on Monday, the 31 March 2025.
The Metro said the cause of a power outage in Kariega and Despatch, is a trip of a 132kV circuit breaker, at San Sans/Chatty substation.
This has led to a loss of power supply to Kariega,Despatch, Algoa Road,Tollgate and surrounding areas.
The Municipality also said its team is investigating the matter.
Another circuit breaker tripped in Gamtoos and surrounding areas.
It tripped at Summit/Trfr 2 substation, affecting Summit Gamtoos Pumps overhead line,Vaalkrans, the Holiday Resort and surrounding areas.
Other areas with a power outage are Wards 54-57, the Police Station and surrounding areas.
The Municipality said supply was restored to certain parts of Motherwell, but areas receiving power from the 22k, will remain off, until the old board migrated to the new one.
