Enos Banda is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ENERTRAG South Africa.
ENERTRAG, is a global organization specializing in energy, collector-grid, battery and green-hydrogen solutions.
In a statement, ENERTRAG, headquartered in Germany, said, Enos’ appointment is instrumental in moving the implementation of its substantial renewable-development pipeline in South Africa.
“I am excited to step into the role of CEO at ENERTRAG South Africa during a period of rapid transformation and notable grid challenges in the energy sector” said Enos Banda.
He also said ENERTRAG has trusted him to advance innovation and pioneer work to develop and invest in the grid.
“I believe now, more than ever, global innovation, local expertise and collaboration are key to achieving a successful energy transition” said Enos.
Dr. Tobias Bischof-Niemz, Member of the Management Board at ENERTRAG SE, said “Enos’ appointment marks a bold new chapter for our South African operations. Under Enos’ leadership, we are reinforcing our commitment to driving innovation and delivering sustainable energy solutions to South Africa, especially in the coal region of Mpumalanga. His expertise and leadership will play a critical role in advancing our mission to contribute to South Africa’s sustainable energy future.”
He also said Enos brings decades of experience in the energy sector.
He is a former chairman of the energy regulator, has worked as a senior executive in the energy industry, and led both listed and unlisted companies as a senior executive or board member.
Recently he founded Green Transmission Company, which has started working on grid infrastructure development in South Africa, and which will explore collaboration with ENERTRAG.
