South African authorities and significant energy players met their Chinese counterparts in Beijing, since Monday.
Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, Minister of Electricity and Energy, led a delegation of Premiers and industry leaders, to the South Africa–China Electricity and Energy Conference in Beijing.
One outcome, is the collaboration between Sasol and Envision.
Envision was commissioned to design a green hydrogen system for Sasol’s Sasolburg operations.
That project will explore the integration of renewable energy, battery storage and electrolyser technologies to produce cost-efficient green hydrogen.
The project has potential to fuel eMethanol production and, in future, sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF).
Envision has a Net Zero Industrial Park in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia.
