Eskom said its power system is fairly stable, despite numerous outages-amounting to 11 695 Megawatts (MW).
In addition, the power utility said about 3 960 Megawatts (MW), will be returning to the grid, ahead of Monday evening’s peak, to further stabilise the grid.
During this week, planned maintenance averaged 5, 050MW.
Over the same period, the Energy Availability Factor (EAF) was between 62% and 66%, with the month-to- date average further increasing to 63.11%.
About R5.616 billion was spent on fuel for OCGT plants, generating 952.41GWh of electricity, between 1 April and 24 July 2025.
