The BMW Group has allocated R4.2 billion for the electrification of its Rosslyn Plant.
The Plant is the only one that produces the BMW X3 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) for the global market.
Daniel Bester, Director of BMW Group Plant Rosslyn, said the plant is also celebrating its highest annual production volume in 52 years. In addition, it has generated 3,500 jobs since the inception of the youth program (YES) in 2022.

Dignitaries joining celebrations were President Cyril Ramaphosa, Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Milan Nedeljković, Chairman of BMW South Africa and Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Production, and Ilka Horstmeier, Labour Relations Director and Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for People and Real Estate.
