Authorities have begun evacuating communities along the banks of the Daly river, fearing for flooding, by Wednesday.
More rain continues on Monday and Tuesday, despite floods along rivers, north of the Northern Territory, in Australia.
The Bureau of Meteorology, said although it is currently the wet season in that country, rainfall this week has been uncommonly heavy.
As a result, flooding has occurred along the Katherine and Daly rivers.
The Katherine River is at its highest level, since 1998, while the Daly River continues to rise.
