A fire at Wiggins flattened 10 informal homes on Saturday evening.
Although intense, the fire was contained by eThekwini Municipality’s firefighters.
Zwelethu Thusi, a Divisional Commander in the Municipality’s Fire Services Directorate, said the call about the fire came at around 23:30.
“Upon arrival, two operational sectors were immediately established, and crews launched an aggressive firefighting operation using three 38mm hose lines to contain and extinguish the blaze” he said.
There were no injuries, fatalities, or missing persons reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
