Ostriches were rescued near a bridge in Volmoed, following Thursday’s floods.
The Oudtshoorn Municipality said many did not survive the adverse weather.
“Our thoughts are with the affected farmers and communities during this difficult time” said the Municipality.
Operations at the recently reopened Cango Caves, are suspended until further notice. This is due to the closure of the R328 (Cango Caves Road).
The Garden Route District said several roads are closed in the area, as a result of floods- Calitzdorp, Langkloof, and surrounding areas.
