Urgent evacuations continue in the Gamtoos area, after the Kromme River burst its banks.
This led to flooding in the R102, up to Mondplaas, with no accessible intersections.
The Municipality urged residents to avoid the area completely, especially since large volumes of water are expected to flow into the dam system overnight.
Water levels in the Kromme River are anticipated to rise by between 3 and 5 metres.
