Rains forecast over parts of the Cape, did not arrive on Monday evening, but authorities at the Cape Winelands District Municipality’s (CWDM) Fire Services, said this did not stop firefighting efforts, at Bain’s Kloof.
The Municipality said the fire, which broke out on Monday afternoon, is largely contained.
Ground crews from the Municipality, CapeNature and those deployed by a landowner close to the area, worked tirelessly throughout the night.
Although there are no active flames, there are a few smouldering hotspots.
As a result, the Municipality said teams would stay on, until Tuesday midday.
