A fire broke out at the Tembisa Hospital’s casualty ward, on Saturday afternoon.

Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, Mayor of Ekurhuleni, said all patients are safe and no one was injured in the fire.

A Joint Operations Centre (JOC) was activated, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Mayor also extended heartfelt gratitude to all emergency services and SARZA Search and Rescue teams for their swift and courageous response.
