The Cape Winelands District Municipality said in an update, Fire Services and partners continue to battle a mountain fire in Banhoek Valley, since Saturday afternoon.
The Municipality’s firefighting vehicles and crews, along with contracted ground teams are on the scene, as well as Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS)and Mountain To Oceans (MTO) teams.
Efforts are to prevent the fire from crossing the Jonkershoek Valley, situated on the other side of Banhoek.
The Municipality also said aerial resources will continue to operate until last light.
