A U.S. federal judge, Judge Amir Ali,
ordered the Trump administration on Thursday this week, to temporarily lift the freeze on foreign aid funding on the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) global programmes.

The lawsuit was brought by two health care organizations – Aids Vaccine Advocacy Coalition and the Global Health Council.

Judge Ali said President Trump has not offered any explanation for a blanket suspension of foreign aid.

The order from the judge, has set a deadline of the 18th February 2025, for the administration to inform the court of “the status of compliance.”
