Modimolle

The Modimolle Mookgophong Local Municipality, said it is experiencing high water levels on low lying areas. 

As a result, corner of Joe Slove street and Limpopo street in Modimolle, is an example of the floods, following heavy rains in the area.

The Municipality advised residents to be vigilant and not to attempt to cross flooded roads or bridges.

Heidelberg

Residents of Heidelberg, have also shared pictures of flooded roads, such as the low-water bridge, on  Maré Street, that is overflowing.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised not to attempt to cross it.

Dwesi, Eastern Cape

Residents of KwaDwesi, in the Nelson Mandela Bay, in the Eastern Cape, are preparing for a re-opening of Mhlolokotshane Street,which was devastated by last year’s floods.

Babalwa Lobishe, Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, is expected to reopen the street on Thursday afternoon.

“This re-opening forms part of the “All Hands On Deck” campaign, demonstrating our commitment to rebuilding our communities, one street at a time. Media are encouraged to attend for photo opportunities, interviews, and updates on the broader flood infrastructure projects” said Lobishe ahead of the event.
