Most parts of Pretoria East will be affected by repair work on the 132KV Njala line 1, which was badly burnt. Although power is back in some areas- parts of Pyramid, Phumlani and Koedoespoort, Frans Boshielo, MMC for Utilities in the City of Tshwane, said the reformer burnt when the Waltoo fire station caught fire on Wednesday night, was damaged beyond repair.
He also said the City’s energy and electricity department, will conduct an emergency outage, to repair line isolators.
Technicians and engineers have begun work expected to take up to 6 hours at the Njala Infeed Station.
It will then take up to 3 days to complete work at the Waltoo Substation.
Areas affected are Mooikloof, Wapadrand, Waltloo, Mamelodi and Koedoespoort.
